Job Summary
Cyber Security Architect - Cloud Security responsible for planning, designing, and implementing secure cloud strategies and policies that meet client and federal guidelines. Interfaces with clients, stakeholders, and project leads to ensure security/compliance requirements align with functional needs. Develops secure design patterns for current and future projects; manages multiple projects from conception to implementation. Demonstrates threat modeling expertise and articulates decisions through compliance and risk assessments. Coordinates with multiple teams to identify and implement compensating controls, aligns business objectives with security and compliance requirements, and evaluates new technologies to recommend security solutions. Works independently, mentors team members, and communicates complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security or related field
- 7+ years of experience creating secure cloud environments across multiple cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- 3+ years of experience defending enterprise environments
- Expertise in threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies
- Strong understanding of NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls
- Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, technologies and best practices
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders and leadership
- High level scripting language (Python, JavaScript, Go, Java)
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and mentor others
- Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CISM (preferred)
- Experience with various cloud providers and industry-specific compliance requirements
