Job Summary
Cyber Reverse Engineer responsible for offensive and defensive research on embedded hardware and software, performing system security analysis to identify vulnerabilities, reverse engineering of binary applications, protocols and formats, and design and development of software applications. Must document and communicate technical research results effectively to technical and non-technical user groups. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience), strong proficiency in C and Python, familiarity with x86/x64 assembly, OS APIs/ABIs (Linux/Windows), and hands-on experience with reverse engineering tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, Wireshark). Desired experience includes embedded systems reverse engineering, understanding static/dynamic analysis tools, and knowledge of wireless protocols. Candidates should show initiative, adaptability, and strong communication, and may have top-secret clearance or related experience. Salary range listed reflects annual compensation; benefits package described include equity, retirement, health care, PTO, and potential for raises/bonuses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Eligible to obtain TS/SCI clearance
- Proficient in C and Python
- Familiarity with x86/x64 assembly
- Knowledge of operating system APIs and ABIs, such as Linux or Windows
- Experience with hardware and software reverse engineering
- Understanding of static and dynamic software analysis tools and techniques
- Experience with reverse engineering tools, such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and Wireshark
- Experience with reverse engineering wireless communication systems and protocols
- Proven capability to learn new skills, adapt to shifting priorities and requirements
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills
- High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in small team settings to solve complex problems
Desired Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
- Experience with IDA Pro, Ghidra, Wireshark
- Experience debugging embedded systems
- ARM / MIPS / PPC assembly experience
- Experience with capture-the-flag (CTF) or software hacking competitions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in small teams
- Proven ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities
