Cyber Defense Engineer

Job Summary
Investigate and respond to cyber incidents within the network environment by collecting data from intrusion detection systems, firewall logs, and host system logs. Recommend and document information security requirements and controls, while providing guidance on policy interpretation and applicability. Participate in incident response, risk assessment, vulnerability management, and security monitoring activities across cloud and on-premise settings. Support, maintain, and enhance security tools and methodologies, then analyze data to provide reports and recommended response actions to management. Publish regular status reports and submit findings to leadership. Works semi-independently with periodic management check-ins, establishing operational plans and developing new processes that impact functional results.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree
- three years of related IT experience
- demonstrated technical knowledge in multiple information security domains
- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
