Job Summary
Cyber Data Engineer — Build and own data pipelines, SIEM deployments end-to-end (Splunk/Elastic/ArcSight), and host/VM administration across Linux/Windows and hypervisors. Apply DoD/IC configuration standards, manage event logs for live security investigations, and work with cloud assets (AWS). Requires 5+ years in a systems/infrastructure role, advanced Linux skills, strong networking fundamentals, hands-on hypervisor experience, and IAT II certification or ability to obtain with CSSP Infrastructure cert within 120 days. Bonus points for SIEM experience (Splunk/Elastic/ArcSight), Cribl, scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell), and cloud experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in systems engineering or a similar infrastructure/ops role
- Advanced Linux proficiency — comfortable on the command line, can work through complex issues independently
- Strong networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, IPAM, load balancers, firewalls
- Hands-on hypervisor experience (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, or Citrix XenServer)
- IAT II certification (or ability to obtain); CSSP Infrastructure Support cert required within 120 days of hire
- Proven root-cause analysis skills — you don't just fix symptoms, you find the source
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable working with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders
