Job Summary
Operate forklifts of various sizes, move material throughout the facility, load precast products, and manage yard inventory while adhering to standard work methods and safe practices. Attend daily safe start meetings, perform pre-shift equipment inspections, and maintain 5S standards to ensure clean, safe work areas. Comply with all safety, quality, and environmental policies while examining received material for conformance and providing ground hand signals to other operators. Responsible for shipping production products per the Planning Schedule with accurate paperwork. Work outside year-round, maintaining 18,000-pound forklift and yard truck competence.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Good visual acuity
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment
- Previous forklift operation experience preferred
- Trained and demonstrate competence in operation of a 18,000 pounds forklift and yard truck in a safe and efficient manner
- Operation of loader and other equipment, a plus
- Knowledge of proper rigging and principles
- Provide ground hand signals to other operators
- Examine received material to verify conformance to quality standards
- Responsible for shipping of production products per Planning Schedule and ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete
- Perform all pre-shift inspections prior to equipment operation
