Job Summary
Provide attentive supervision, plan and deliver engaging play-based programming using YMCA curricula, track children’s development, maintain accurate attendance records, supervise indoor/outdoor spaces, sanitize toys and equipment, adapt environments to support inclusion and safety, and ensure compliance with the Child Care & Early Years Act and Public Health guidelines. Collaborate with families and community partners, complete required documentation, participate in monthly meetings and professional development, and support the team with assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years working with children and/or youth
- Current Standard First Aid with Infant and Child CPR (Level C)
- Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within the last 6 months)
- Certification in YMCA Playing to Learn (asset)
- Health Assessment from Medical Professional and Immunizations Record
