Job Summary
Provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients on the Cardiovascular Unit, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Demonstrates clinical competence, conducts assessments, develops and implements outcome-based plans, and evaluates patient progress. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing staff; facilitates communication with physicians, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring as applicable; delivers age-appropriate nursing care and adheres to safety and infection control policies. Requires Associate degree in nursing with Iowa RN license; BSN preferred; BLS required; ACLS required only if telemetry is in use. Must complete Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire. This is a full-time role with rotating shift coverage (weekends and holidays). Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing
- Current or compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse (Iowa)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required if telemetry
- Evidence-based practice experience with telemetry monitoring
- Experience supervising or coordinating care in a nursing unit (LPNs, PCTs)
