Job Summary
Perform and assist with non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures (echocardiograms, stress echocardiography, vascular ultrasound) per physician orders, prepare patients, document in EMR, and ensure patient safety while supporting UF Health’s cardiovascular imaging and care missions. Maintain high-quality imaging, optimize parameters, and escalate urgent results to supervising providers. Collaborate with cardiology, nursing, and sonography teams, participate in quality improvement, infection control, and a compliant clinical environment, and support training of students/new staff as part of a learning-focused academic health center. The role emphasizes patient-centered cardiac care, accurate data transmission to interpreting physicians via PACS, and ongoing professional growth in cardiovascular imaging.
Required Qualifications
- Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or equivalent training
- Experience performing non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures (echocardiograms, stress echocardiography, vascular studies)
- Ability to prepare patients, verify history, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety
- Ability to document procedures in electronic medical records and transmit images/reports via PACS
- Strong communication, professionalism, and compassionate patient care
- Ability to collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, sonographers, and multidisciplinary team
