Job Summary
Conduct expert perioperative patient care as a scrub assistant to physicians performing complex, high-acuity procedures including open heart, vascular, endovascular, heart and lung transplants, thoracic surgery, and advanced cardiac robotic cases. Verify functioning supplies and instruments prior to procedures, apply aseptic technique, and ensure safe care adhering to policies and standards for elective and emergency situations. Serve as a resource, mentor, and preceptor to less experienced staff while meeting mandatory continuing education and skills competency requirements. Work across Memorial Hermann locations in Memorial City, Texas Medical Center, Northeast, and The Woodlands with flexible scheduling options.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Relocate with ease
