CVOR Surgical Technologist

Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients while serving as a clinical resource to staff. Lead service area committees, identify cost containment activities, and participate in unit-based performance improvement programs. Prepare operating rooms, assemble supplies and instruments, and assist surgeons with aseptic technique and procedure execution. Monitor supplies, initiate purchases to maintain par levels, and document all aspects of care per established protocols. Review procedure protocols and physician requests to prioritize patient needs, identify unusual incidents, and implement interventions for complex patient reactions. Mentor new staff, conduct orientation programs, and assist in developing and revising clinical pathways and policies.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from a surgical technology program or equivalent job training, which may include military perioperative programs and/or hospital-based training programs
- Two years multispecialty experience with one year in CVOR
- Must be able to function as a clinical expert in CVOR
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in Surgical Technology preferred
