Job Summary
Evaluate, plan, and manage post-open-heart patients by collaborating with the interdisciplinary surgical team. Supervise treatments, obtain medical records, order tests, diagnose diseases, prescribe medications, and perform procedures such as central line placement, chest tube insertion, and suturing. Provide post-operative care in the Cardiac PACU and Cardiovascular ICU while partnering with surgeons and intensivists to develop treatment plans and advise on patient condition changes. Monitor and ensure accuracy of patient medical records. Specialize in cardiac surgery critical care to recommend appropriate treatment courses.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Practice Provider (APP) credential
- Cardiac surgery specialization
- Ability to supervise treatments
- Ability to obtain medical records
- Ability to evaluate patients
- Ability to order tests or scans
- Ability to diagnose diseases
- Ability to prescribe medications
- Ability to provide post-operative care in Cardiac PACU and Cardiovascular ICU
- Ability to perform central and arterial line placement
