Job Summary
Assess, evaluate, plan, and coordinate treatment plans for patients with critical illness and vent management while responding to Code Blue events and initiating cardiac monitoring protocols. Manage patient flow by screening, preparing for exams, administering medications per physician orders, and maintaining records with test results. Instruct patients and families on medication and treatment instructions, check rooms for necessary supplies daily, and respond to incoming telephone calls including phone triage when needed. This Full Time Day Shift role requires 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) with rotating weekends and holidays. Candidates must hold an active RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications with at least one year of acute care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification
- At least 1 year of Acute Care/Hospital Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) experience
- Ability to respond to Code Blue within the facility and initiate protocol, special procedures and cardiac monitoring
- Manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions
- Maintain and review patients' records including posting tests and examination results
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders
- Check rooms daily for necessary supplies
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)
- Full Time position
- Day Shift
- Shifts are 12 hours in length (approximately 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
- Rotating Weekends and Holidays are required
