Job Summary
Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to perform cardiovascular diagnostic procedures including echocardiograms, stress echoes, TEEs, carotid ultrasounds, and pulse volume recording on adult and pediatric patients. Execute routine sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate, and record anatomical and physiological data for diagnosing disorders while ensuring patient safety. Schedule and coordinate tests, prepare operational logs, and document results for referring physicians. Update patient records and receive instruction from the Director/Cardiovascular Labs. This entry-level role supports a professional career progression within Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare's advanced care programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Graduation from an accredited sonography program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- One of the following credentials: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Adult Echocardiography (AE); RDCS, Pediatric Echocardiography (PE); RDCS, Fetal Echocardiography (FE); Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT); Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS); Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS); or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
- Acceptance of a full-time position (0.9 FTE or greater)
- If a former employee, must have been separated from the organization for at least 12 months
- Successful completion of a drug screen
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of reference verification
- Successful completion of a health assessment
- Successful completion of credential/license verification
