Job Summary
Operates radiographic equipment in the cardiac catheterization laboratory following ALARA principles; prepares and operates equipment for cardiac catheterization and angiography (e.g., ISTAT, AVOXimeter, Hemochron); maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms; provides direct patient care and supports efficient department operation; participates in hemodynamic monitoring, assists physicians during procedures, manages supply inventory, and schedules cases; pulls venous and arterial lines; participates in on-call schedule; ensures safety compliance and completes required certifications (sedation/EKG competency, BLS, ACLS within 6 months); requires Iowa licensure/registration (ARRT) and related cardiovascular technologist credentials.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure, Certification, Registration Iowa Permit to Practice required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology required, certification as Cardiovascular Technologist preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), certification in accordance with American Heart Association required
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), certification in accordance with American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire
- Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse and Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required
