Job Summary
Operate continuous vulcanization extruders to produce high-quality bulk ignition wire, maintaining equipment at 75% of monthly schedule. Perform set-ups per work orders, conduct quality checks for OD and wall thickness, and adjust extruders based on visual inspection and gauges. Complete labor, inventory, and quality reporting accurately while performing minor repairs and maintaining a clean workstation. Lift up to 50 lb. repetitively and manipulate reels weighing up to 1,200 lb. Work the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm, with overtime available when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write and be able to follow directions
- Must be able to work in standing posture for extended periods
- Must lift up to 50 lb. repetitively and perform stooping, bending, reaching, pulling
- Must be able to manipulate reels of wire weighing up to 1200 lb. and gaylords of raw material up to 1500 via pallet cart
- Must be able to work with factory PC with video display and touch screen controls
- Must be analytical, mechanically inclined, organized and detailed oriented
- Must be able to view and determine quality of print on moving wire
- Must be able to work with raw materials and chemicals present in workplace environment
- Must have legible handwriting and basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to measure with and accurately read various gauges
- Must be able and willing to work significant overtime hours when assigned
