Cutter

Intermediate-level Cutter responsible for learning procedures and techniques involved in the cutting of tape wound magnetic cores. Observes senior Cutting Operator conducting various tasks to learn procedures and techniques. Operates machines to cut cores; determines saw blade type and cutting procedures per process sheet or senior Operator’s instructions; installs/replaces cutting blades; checks cutting fluid; removes excess resin; moves cores to and from machines using manual handling or forklift; positions cores on plate and uses coolant; monitors blade alignment and cut straightness; checks first-cut dimensions and adjusts as needed; uses calipers to verify dimensions; places cut cores in bake-out oven; inspects work for conformance; reworks if necessary; returns parts to prior departments or passes to next stage; cleans coolant and metal sludge; performs other related duties as assigned.
