Job Summary
Cutter (Stainless Steel) - Full-time, 1st shift in Pflugerville, TX. Tends multiple machine tools, special purpose machines, or industrial robots to machine high vacuum components to specification on a production basis. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and setup requirements. Measures and marks dimensions, selects and positions holding fixtures and cutting tools, and sets controls for speeds, feeds, and coolant. Monitors operation for malfunctions and quality, makes adjustments, and inspects machined parts to verify conformance. Requires knowledge of machining practices and the ability to read drawings and use measuring tools (dial calipers, ID gauges, thread gauges, height gauges). Must have 3-5 years related experience and/or a high school diploma or GED.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven knowledge of machining practices, measurement and evaluation skills, and tooling applications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts
- Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Ability to operate machine tools and related equipment; ability to control machining factors (speed, feed, coolant, etc.)
- Ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds and work in a production environment
