Job Summary
Operate chipping, grinding, and cutting equipment to remove projections and surplus metal from sand castings. Set up and run band saws, abrasive saws, sand grinders, and portable pneumatic tools while using hand tools like hammers and files. Inspect all work for defects before passing it on, report production quantities per work order, and document actions on quality forms. Maintain a safe, clean environment by complying with procedures and conserving resources. Contribute to team efforts by training others in machine operator tasks. Shift runs from 1:30pm to 10:00pm. Starting pay is $20/hr.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
- Must be able to safety use small hand and power tools
- Must be able to read and interpret work instructions
- Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisor regarding manufacturing processes
- Must have ability to operate a variety of machinery
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis floor to shoulder
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a frequent basis floor to chest
- Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
Desired Qualifications
- 6+ months experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a foundry
