Job Summary
Cutline Operator responsible for cutting cable from stock reels to customer-requested lengths and placing on wood or steel reels per specifications. Duties include making cable cuts (60%), loading/unloading reels at the cut stand (10%), operating forklift and reel mover to transport reels (20%), sealing cable ends and tying them to reels (10%), and assisting in shipping functions. Requires ability to read/write, perform basic math, follow verbal/written instructions, maintain safety and housekeeping, work with others, and distinguish colors. Heavy reels up to 25,000 pounds (typically <7,000 pounds) may be pushed into payoffs and out of take-up; equipment available for material handling. Will use company systems (OJT) such as PRT and MX Open. This is an at-will position, with potential for overtime and shift work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or the equivalent
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience driving forklift
- Previous computer knowledge or experience
- LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Forklift certification (implicit)
