Job Summary
Catch and paint springs from the oven cooling conveyer in a safe and efficient manner; cone the springs with a large drill motor and coning holder; cut springs with cutting torch to needed length; inspect the quality and length of the springs; palletize the finished springs; band the completed springs to the pallet; label the springs; close out the work orders via the computer; produce the springs at or above set labor standards; maintain a clean and safe working area. Requires reading a tape measure, ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs (with team lift for heavier loads), use a cutting torch, and operate related tools such as micrometers and various hand tools; work in a non-climate-controlled plant with potentially high noise levels and required hearing protection; positions include day and second shifts with on-site work. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Production experience preferred
- Must be able to read a tape measure accurately
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance and more than 50 lbs using a team-lift
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use a cutting torch
