Customs & Trade Analyst (m/w/d)

Job Summary
Support import and export activities across Europe by reviewing customs declarations, trade documentation, and transaction data to ensure accuracy and compliance with EU regulations. Assist with tariff classification, customs valuation, origin determination, and the application of free trade agreements while monitoring filings and collaborating with brokers to resolve discrepancies. Investigate customs-related issues, perform data analysis for root-cause assessments, and contribute to audits, compliance reviews, and management reporting. Partner with purchasing, supply chain, logistics, finance, engineering, and manufacturing teams to advise on customs implications for sourcing decisions and supply chain initiatives. Maintain customs records, support process documentation, and identify opportunities for automation and standardization.
Required Qualifications
- Successfully completed Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, Finance or a related field
- 3 years experience in customs, trade compliance, import/export operations, international logistics or a related area
- Solid knowledge of EU customs regulations, customs procedures and the Union Customs Code (UCC)
- Experience with tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin requirements and preferential trade agreements
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders and external trade compliance service providers
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Plex, or similar platforms
- Fluent language knowledge in German and English
- Ideally gained in the automotive industry
