Job Summary
Validate and process commercial documentation for US Customs and Border Protection entry release requests, ensuring files contain proper invoices, manifests, and Free Trade Agreement declarations. Review document content for missing information required to rate shipments, establish duty values, and determine suggested tariff treatment codes. Process missing information requests to Client Representatives, ensure compliance with ACE reporting elements, and prioritize urgent files to maintain daily workflow allocation. Support the PAPS call center and perform general clerical duties as necessary. This role supports the Processing Team within Metro Customs Brokers' US Customs Brokerage division, offering a collaborative environment with industry-leading compensation and a hybrid work schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of vocational or technical degree
- At least 3 years customs brokerage experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- High level of autonomy and time management skills
- High ability to handle multiple priorities without losing details
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office) and ability to quickly learn company software and specific programs
