Customs Process Engineer/AI Engineer (Antwerp or Rotterdam)

Job Summary
Design intelligent customs processes by analyzing operational workflows, building scalable process models, and translating business requirements into digital solutions. Develop AI-powered solutions including agents, prompts, and guardrails while improving performance through continuous learning and human-in-the-loop decision support. Build integrations by designing APIs and EDI connections to ensure reliable end-to-end data flows across the digital ecosystem. Improve data quality through model design and automation to increase first-time-right processing rates. Automate operations by configuring workflows and orchestrating business processes across multiple systems. Work with product managers to prototype new digital capabilities and contribute to the Digital Customs Platform roadmap.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Business Information Management or a related field
- Experience in process improvement, business analysis or digital transformation
- An affinity with automation, AI and data-driven solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
- Curiosity, ownership and a continuous improvement mentality
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with customs, logistics or international trade
- Experience with one or more of the following: Business Process Management (BPMN), APIs and system integrations, EDI, SQL, Data modelling, Microsoft Power Platform, Workflow automation platforms, AI and Large Language Models, Azure or cloud platforms
