Job Summary
Lead US/CA customs compliance strategy by operationalizing the Wabtec Customs Compliance Enterprise Standard and enforcing policies across importer/exporter entities. Manage local standard work processes, drive regulatory change communications, and oversee Customs Broker and Managed Trade Service providers. Resolve trade compliance issues, respond to government inquiries, and conduct compliance training for business teams. Ensure accurate metric reporting and coach direct reports while collaborating with global stakeholders to abate operational risks. Support customer projects with trade compliance requirements in a matrixed organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's (higher education) Degree
- 9+ years of industry customs compliance experience
- people leader experience
- Licensed Customs Broker or appropriate in-country equivalent certification
- Deep knowledge of local customs, trade, and other regulatory agency requirements that relate to import and export activities with a focus on US and CA
- Self-Directed
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to influence others and work cross-functionally to drive results in a highly matrixed organization
- Strong problem-solving and process-focused background
- Demonstrated accomplishments in teamwork, integrity, and attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a challenging environment
- Demonstrated program leadership and project management skills
- Proficiency in English
- Travel as needed, which could include some global travel
- Alternate locations may be considered
