Job Summary
Lead US/CA customs compliance strategy by operationalizing the Wabtec Customs Compliance Enterprise Standard and enforcing regional policies. Drive program discipline, manage Customs Broker and Managed Trade Service providers, and ensure timely responses to government inquiries. Resolve trade compliance issues, communicate regulatory changes, and conduct compliance training for business units. Coach direct reports and collaborate with global stakeholders to assess risks and support customer projects. Report on regional metrics and maintain alignment with local standards. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 9+ years of customs experience, and a Licensed Customs Broker. Salary range $104,800-$149,300.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's (higher education) Degree
- 9+ years of industry customs compliance experience
- people leader experience
- Licensed Customs Broker or appropriate in-country equivalent certification
- Deep knowledge of local customs, trade, and other regulatory agency requirements that relate to import and export activities with a focus on US and CA
- Self-Directed
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to influence others and work cross-functionally to drive results in a highly matrixed organization
- Strong problem-solving and process-focused background that reflects accomplishments in teamwork, integrity, and attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a challenging environment
- Demonstrated program leadership and project management skills
- Proficiency in English
- Travel as needed, which could include some global travel
