Job Summary
Oversee and support the customs brokerage department under the Customs Brokerage Manager, focusing on operational excellence, financial performance, business development, employee development, customer service, and digitization. Responsibilities include monitoring regulatory compliance (OPS and external regulations), optimizing process flows, ensuring SOP adherence, managing workload allocation, coordinating with local customs and authorities, maintaining documentation for archiving, and promoting a culture of integrity. Lead and mentor staff to meet training targets (52 hours per year), participate in performance reviews, and ensure clear job descriptions and development plans. Collaborate with sales/CRM to transition new business and support brokerage setup and quotes. Requirements include 3-5 years of customs brokerage experience, licensed broker preferred, bilingual English/Spanish, strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of customs processes and systems. Salary is $70,304 annual base with eligible bonuses; 40-hour workweek; San Diego, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Customs Brokerage experience (preferred)
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations
- Experience with CRM and reporting tools
- Ability to lead and mentor a team
- Understanding of classification, valuation and origin in customs
- Knowledge of hazardous materials (preferred)
