Job Summary
Review import documentation, troubleshoot discrepancies, classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and ensure shipments meet federal regulatory requirements. Communicate directly with customers, carriers, and international partners to keep freight moving efficiently and compliantly. Prepare and process customs entries, audit commercial documents, identify and resolve discrepancies, apply correct HTS codes, coordinate freight forwarding with domestic and international carriers, submit entries via GBS-CM, scan/upload documentation, and prepare reports and analyses. Support weekend or holiday work on a rotational basis and transition from onsite training to a fully remote role with opportunities for advancement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
- Basic understanding of U.S. customs operations, regulations, and government agencies
- Familiarity with HTS codes or tariff classification (preferred but not required)
- Strong computer skills and comfort with data entry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve documentation issues
- 6 weeks onsite training (required)
- 1-year product lock-in to maintain continuity and skill proficiency (implies long-term engagement)
