Job Summary
Conduct daily brokerage operations by overseeing entry filings, managing file flow, and ensuring compliance with CBP regulations. Train and advise the team on customs rules while performing regular audits on import entries, shipments, and accounting. Monitor problem files as the escalation point, implementing corrective actions and resolving documentation discrepancies with customers and origin offices. Review documents for HTS accuracy, country of origin, and valuation, then develop and train entry writers to align with department goals. Work closely with other departments to deliver high-level customer service. Requires a Licensed Customs Broker with 7+ years in imports compliance and hands-on experience with CargoWise and ACE. Hybrid position in the NW suburbs of Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in imports compliance and customs brokerage
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)
- In depth knowledge of import entry process and regulations; HTS, COO, valuation, FTA, PGAs, etc.
- Hands-on experience with CargoWise and ACE
- Ability to work with demanding deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent team building skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency
