Job Summary
CUSTOMS BROKERAGE SUPERVISOR responsible for developing plans based on customer specs, providing rate quotes, reviewing processes, resolving customs and carrier issues, maintaining customer relationships, preparing and monitoring FTZ/CBP reports, and training/supervising team members. Manages post-entry reviews and audits; ensures compliance with FTZ regulations (19 CFR 146) and various U.S. government regulatory requirements; handles AP/AR discrepancies and customer communications; requires strong documentation, analytical, and supervisory skills, proficiency with MS Office, and knowledge of CBP forms (214, 7512, 216, 7501, 3461) and related customs brokerage procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience and/or training
- Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity
- PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Customs Broker License preferred
