Job Summary
Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow by transferring declaration information from documents into the operational system. Track and trace custom files, verify customs declaration data, and submit accurate entries to the customs authority. Maintain compliance with all regulations while ensuring precise client billing and interpreting desk-level operating procedures to fulfill customer expectations. Requires strong knowledge of import/export customs legislation, ocean/road/air documentation, and proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Fluent in English. Reports to the Customs Brokerage Lead Agent, Supervisor, or Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Good knowledge of customs brokerage process, customs legislation - especially with regards to classification, valuation and origin
- Understanding of ocean, road and air documentation process
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Pro-active approach, strong organizational and computer skills
- Good computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word)
- Fluent in English
