Customs Broker Manager

Job Summary
Oversee import customs house broker processes and ensure compliance with US laws, JAS Forwarding operations procedures, and government agency requirements including US CBP, ISF, and CFS. Manage all import and customs broker transactions for accuracy and timeliness while supervising entry writers and import personnel on classification, valuation, and post-entry work. Train staff on compliance resources and address performance gaps to enhance capabilities. Monitor Importer Security Filings for 100% compliance and ensure timely duty payments and ACH statements. Serve as the subject matter expert for the Entry Processing sector, partnering with central dispatching to oversee freight movement and handle escalated issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) for goods entry.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of customs laws, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of Food Drug Administration (FDA), Fish and Wildlife (US F&W) and other government agencies
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be a Licensed Customer Broker (LCB)
- Five years' experience in the logistics or forwarding industry
- A minimum of 3 years working in a supervisory role
- A minimum of 4 years' experience working in customs brokerage and understanding customs regulations
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others
- Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates, supervisors, and government officials

- Cargo Wise platform (preferred)
- Bilingual is a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
