Job Summary
Customer Technical Service Engineer at Ball Corporation responsible for delivering technical and customer support to sustain quality assurance initiatives. Key duties include supporting New Product Development, leading technical improvement initiatives, coordinating filling line trials, managing quality issues and customer complaints with site visits, responding to quality concerns, auditing customer facilities, facilitating cross-department collaboration, performing quality engineering activities (root cause analysis, corrective actions, continuous improvement like DMAIC/5S/Kaizen), developing and reviewing quality assurance policies, maintaining the quality management system, and facilitating BOE and KPI reporting. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar science discipline and at least 3 years in quality/manufacturing, with strong communication, Lean/Six Sigma knowledge, and preferred certifications (ASQ Black Belt/Quality Engineer). Role is remote in the U.S. with travel up to 50% and a home base within 50 miles of a major airport.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Food Safety or other science-related discipline or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality or quality-related manufacturing environment
- Efficient, concise communication, relationship building and facilitation skills
- Working knowledge of Engineering principles, practices, terminology, and procedures
- Working knowledge of Quality assurance principles (Root Cause Analysis, etc.)
- Lean Manufacturing Principles (8D, A3 Process, RCA)
