Job Summary
Customer Support Specialist at AnewHealth provides frontline client support for members, clinicians, pharmacies, and plan sponsors. Responsibilities include answering calls professionally, documenting interactions in claims adjudication software, educating clients on plan policies and benefits, resolving drug benefit concerns, initiating and facilitating prior authorization requests, submitting JIRA tickets for compound prescriptions and NDC issues, staying current on plan structures and Medicare Part D guidelines, handling after-hours calls, and supporting other duties as needed. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, strong communication, problem-solving under pressure, and alignment with AnewHealth’s core values. This is a full-time, remote position with travel as needed and an emphasis on delivering accurate, timely customer service across diverse healthcare stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education or work experience
- Preferred: CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) Certification
- 3 years of experience in customer service/member service in a call center or similar
- 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry
- 2 years of experience in a pharmacy support role
- Knowledge of plan and benefit structures and Medicare guidelines
- Knowledge of pharmacology and pharmacological terms
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism when working with clients
- Ability to solve problems under pressure by making immediate decisions while on the phone
- Detail oriented and able to prioritize workload
- Strong computer skills including using word processors, spreadsheets, and database software
