Job Summary
Customer Support Engineer (m/f/d) at KLA in the SPTS division. Responsible for building and maintaining trust-based relationships with customers in the region, providing on-site installation support including system commissioning, upgrades and preventive maintenance, delivering structured feedback for product and process improvements, ensuring accurate field documentation, offering remote installation and technical support, and traveling within the region and occasionally across Europe, the UK, and potentially to the US/Asia. Requires university degree in electrotechnical engineering/mechatronics or related field, hands-on experience in a technical customer-facing role, knowledge of 3-phase voltage, PLCs, and operating systems; advantageous experience with semiconductor capital equipment and installation; fluent English and German; strong communication and customer-interfacing skills; willingness to travel regionally and internationally; ability to work independently and solve problems systematically.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in electrotechnical engineering, mechatronics or related technical field
- Relevant professional experience in a technical customer facing role
- Experience of combining electrical/ mechanical/control system as used in a mechatronic environment
- Knowledge of 3 phase voltage, PLC and operating systems
- Advantage would be an experience with electronic semiconductor capital equipment and/or installation expertise
- Fault finding to chassis level would be a distinct advantage
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and German is needed
- Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills
- Flexibility to travel regionally even internationally to support the customer
- Ability to work alone or unsupervised for extended period, often in challenging situations
- Systematic and logical approach to problem solving
- Good organizational skills
