Job Summary
Customer Solutions Agronomist role focused on enabling Bayer’s agronomic solutions in Alberta’s Peace Region. Responsibilities include co-owning squad P&L targets, planning and executing 90-day to long-term cycles, collaborating within a self-managing squad to maximize customer focus, and applying agronomic expertise to support Bayer’s seed, crop protection, and new business models. You’ll leverage data insights and digital tools to assess opportunities, contribute to field testing protocols, manage trial data with Bayer systems (Velocity, Commercial Trialing, Scout), and communicate agronomic positions of Bayer products to customers, retailers, academics, and independent agronomists. The role emphasizes safety and compliance, data quality, and working across local Market Development to launch solutions, with local travel within the Peace Region. Qualifications emphasize agronomy experience, ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences, field-trial program development, sales-support experience, and proficiency with data tools. The role offers a base salary range of $63,840 to $109,200 with potential bonus and benefits, and includes a vehicle provision and a collaborative, inclusive culture.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc./Diploma with minimum 2 years agronomy or agriculture research experience
- Designation: CCA, CCSC, PAg, RT Ag or Order of Agronomist (QC) in progress or completed
- Strong understanding of crop production and agronomy
- Strong communication skills for technical material to non-technical audiences
- Ability to organize and execute high-quality field trial programs
- Experience supporting sales activities
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to supervise and coach summer students
- MS Office Suite and familiarity with CRM or Tableau
Desired Qualifications
- B.Sc./Diploma with a minimum of 2 years agronomy or agriculture research experience
- Currently hold/eligible/in process of completion of either a CCA, CCSC, PAg, RT Ag or Order of Agronomist (QC) designation
- Strong understanding of crop production and agronomy
- Strong communicator and demonstrated experience in communicating technical material to non-technical audiences
- Ability to organize and execute a high-quality field research trial program
- Experience supporting sales’ activities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles safely
- Ability to effectively supervise and coach summer students
- Advanced computer and database skills with MS Office Suite; CRM or Tableau preferred
