Job Summary
As a Customer Site Service Rep II you will provide on-site technical and application expertise for BASF automotive coatings in customer assembly plants, including color management, defect identification, and corrective action to ensure product performance meets or exceeds customer expectations. You will respond to customer requirements, enforce quality specifications, support new product development, and help grow customer relationships. You will support BASF's sales/technical team, develop monthly scorecards, and identify continuous-improvement opportunities. The role requires subject-matter expertise in at least one coating technology (ecoat, prime, basecoat, or clearcoat), and you will maintain data systems for color care, inventory, and forecasting. You will also mentor team members, provide ready support across facilities and customer locations, and lead shift activities with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required; advanced degree preferred
- 4-7+ years of automotive coatings or equivalent industry expertise
- ability to utilize advanced painting process knowledge and applications
- strong attention to detail for topcoat defect inspection
- strong interpersonal and leadership skills to run a shift with minimal supervision
- experience in a manufacturing environment; instrument updates and calibrations; paint processes such as spot repair and workability trials
