Job Summary
Oversee the fast-paced airport passenger service environment by ensuring accuracy of weight and balance requirements and handling all service complaints with a focus on positive resolution. Manage staff scheduling, leadership development, and employee accountability while completing check-in procedures including reservations, ticketing, seat assignments, and airport announcements. Assist customers with special needs and unaccompanied minors, and when operating jet ways, work at unprotected heights over 15 feet to open and close aircraft doors. Read and interpret aircraft loading instructions, hazardous material labels, manifests, and baggage routing tags to ensure safe, secure operations meeting all health, safety, security, and government statutory requirements. Available for variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Positive, can-do, upbeat personality
- Ability to speak, read and write in English proficiently
- Availability and flexibility to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to comfortably and continuously move/lift customer luggage with up to 70lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time at the ticket counter and gate check-in areas
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of computer software programs
- Ability to work at unprotected heights of over 15 feet, approximately 2-3 times per day
- Ability to open/close aircraft doors
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions
- Ability to identify hazardous material labels
- Ability to read aircraft loading manifests
- Ability to read baggage and cargo routing tags
- Ability to ensure safe and secure operations in accordance with health, safety, security and all government statutory requirements
- Pass an FBI criminal background check
- Obtain a customs seal
- Successfully complete and pass the initial new hire classroom and on-the-job training
