Customer Service Specialist, Planning and Zoning

Job Summary
Provide administrative and clerical support to the Director of Planning and Zoning and Assistant Director; respond to customer inquiries at the front window, by telephone and email; prepare correspondence, reports and forms, and manage filing and document handling; support the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board by distributing agenda, preparing packets, and processing hearings; prepare planning and zoning activity reports and manage permit data, fees, deposits, and escrow accounts (Caselle) for subdivision/land development and stormwater plans; coordinate software applications and work with CityView to improve department use; update department web pages and assist in creating/updating SOPs; coordinate purchasing of equipment and office supplies; demonstrate strong customer service and confidential information handling; work independently or in a team; requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of related experience; preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree in English, Accounting, or related field.
