Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services, using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks, clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels, and prepare rental invoices while accepting returned equipment. Install hitches and trailer wiring, answer product questions, and fill propane. Drive a forklift and participate in ongoing U-Haul University education. This role offers on-the-job education, two hands-on working interviews with immediate pay, and a $100 hiring bonus. Requires a valid driver's license, high school diploma, and ability to handle physical exertion with moderate risks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work around fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must not use nicotine products
- Must be able to use smartphone-based U-Scan technology
- Must be able to manage rentals and inventory
- Must be able to inspect and maintain equipment
- Must be able to assist customers
- Must be able to answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services
- Must be able to prepare rental invoices
- Must be able to accept equipment returned from rental
