Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside the center with products and services using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, then clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels. Answer customer questions regarding products and services, prepare rental invoices, and accept returned equipment. Install hitches and trailer wiring, fill propane with certification offered upon employment, and drive a forklift with certification provided after hiring. Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University. This role requires a valid driver's license, ability to maintain a good driving record, and high school diploma. Evening shifts, Saturday or Sunday shifts, and on-the-job training are available.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to work around trucks and trailers
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work around fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must be able to work some physical exertion
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to move equipment
- Must be able to work 2 evening shifts
- Must be able to work a Saturday or Sunday shift
- Must be able to work 7 days a week
- Must be able to work around nicotine products (non-users only)
- Must be able to use smartphone-based U-Scan technology
- Must be able to inspect and maintain equipment
