Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside the center with products and services, using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, then clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels. Answer customer questions about services, prepare rental invoices, and accept returned equipment. Install hitches and trailer wiring, fill propane, and drive a forklift. Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University. This role involves moderate physical exertion and requires a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers
- Must be able to clean and inspect equipment on the lot
- Must be able to answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services
- Must be able to prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental
- Must be able to install hitches and trailer wiring
- Must be able to fill propane
- Must be able to drive a forklift
- Must be able to use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
- Must be able to assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services
- Must be able to work as part of a supportive team
- Must be able to be the face of U-Haul company's exceptional service
- Must be able to ensure that customers get all the help they need on their journeys
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work with fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must not use nicotine products
