Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services, using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, while cleaning, inspecting equipment on the lot, and checking fluid levels. Answer customer questions, prepare rental invoices, accept returned equipment, and install hitches or trailer wiring. Drive a forklift and fill propane, with certifications offered upon employment. Participate in continuous education through U-Haul University. This part-time role requires a valid driver's license, ability to work weekends and afternoons/evenings, and involves moderate physical exertion.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must be able to work afternoons/evenings
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers
- Must be able to clean and inspect equipment on the lot
- Must be able to answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services
- Must be able to prepare rental invoices
- Must be able to accept equipment returned from rental
- Must be able to drive a forklift
- Must be able to fill propane
- Must be able to use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
- Must be able to install hitches and trailer wiring
