Job Summary
Deliver outstanding customer service inside and outside the U-Haul center by assisting customers with selecting, renting, and returning equipment. Manage rentals and inventory using smartphone-based U-Scan technology while safely moving, positioning, and connecting trucks and trailers. Inspect, clean, and prepare rental equipment, including performing basic preventive maintenance and installing trailer hitches. Fill propane cylinders and operate a forklift with provided certifications. Prepare rental contracts and process equipment returns while answering customer questions about products and services. Participate in ongoing training through U-Haul University. This active, hands-on role involves moving equipment, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Valid driver's license and strong communication skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable using smartphones and basic technology
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require
- Must be able to move equipment and lift a minimum of 50 pounds, with or without assistance
