Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services, using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels, and answer questions regarding services. Prepare rental invoices, accept returned equipment, install hitches and trailer wiring, and fill propane. Obtain certification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program for equipment inspection and verification. Drive a forklift and participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work with fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to wear protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to move equipment
- Must not use nicotine products
