Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services while using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels, and prepare rental invoices. Answer customer questions, educate them regarding products, and accept equipment returns. Install hitches and trailer wiring, fill propane, and drive a forklift. Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University. This position offers on-the-job education and a supportive team environment where you will be the face of U-Haul's exceptional service.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work around fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must not use nicotine products
- Must be able to use smartphone-based U-Scan technology
- Must be able to inspect and maintain equipment
- Must be able to dispatch and return equipment
- Must be able to clean and inspect equipment on the lot
- Must be able to check fluid levels
- Must be able to prepare rental invoices
- Must be able to accept equipment returned from rental
- Must be able to install hitches and trailer wiring
- Must be able to fill propane
- Must be able to drive a forklift
