Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services, using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, then clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels. Answer product questions, prepare rental invoices, and accept returned equipment while installing hitches and trailer wiring. Fill propane and operate a forklift, with certifications offered upon employment. Participate in continuous education through U-Haul University. This role involves moderate physical exertion and safety precautions around moving parts. Start today with on-the-job education and receive a $100 hiring bonus plus a $300 completion bonus for the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work around fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to wear protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to move equipment
- Must not use nicotine products
