Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services, using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, then clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels. Answer customer questions, prepare rental invoices, and accept returned equipment while installing hitches and trailer wiring. Fill propane tanks and operate a forklift with certification offered upon employment. Drive vehicles and perform other duties as assigned. This role includes on-the-job education through U-Haul University.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work with fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to wear protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must be able to work in a work environment involving moderate risks or discomforts
