Job Summary
Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services while using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory. Move and hook up trucks and trailers, then clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels. Answer customer questions, educate them regarding services, and prepare rental invoices to accept returned equipment. Install hitches and trailer wiring, fill propane, and drive a forklift as needed. Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University. This role requires a valid driver's license, high school diploma, and ability to handle physical exertion moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain a good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to move around indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
- Must be able to work around moving parts or machines
- Must be able to work around fumes or irritant chemicals
- Must be able to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields
- Must not use nicotine products
