Job Summary
Answer high-volume incoming communications from customers and patients, serving as the first point of contact for billing inquiries, registration, intake, and appointment scheduling. Handle phone messages within 24 hours, set up payment plans, and process credit card transactions while reviewing account data to ensure accurate insurance and demographic information. Utilize resources to troubleshoot patient issues, document all actions taken, and adhere to the Code of Conduct. Requires knowledge of health plan benefits, EOB interpretation, and Mod Med/EMA experience. Competitive hourly pay of $19.00-$24.74 with comprehensive health coverage, 401(k) matching, and PTO accrual from day one.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of health plan benefits (deductibles, copays, coinsurance) and eligibility verification
- Must be able to read, interpret and explain EOBs and patient responsibility in detail
- Must be able to deal diplomatically with complaints and function well under pressure
- Must maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis
Desired Qualifications
- Education in medical billing or hold medical billing certification preferred
- Mod Med/EMA practice management system experience is a plus
