Job Summary
The CSR handles inbound calls from patients about self-pay balances, educates on benefit coverage, billing, and payment options, and coordinates with hospital and professional billing teams to resolve account issues. Responsibilities include reviewing and addressing questions on registration, coding, billing, insurance, payment terms, financial assistance, and collections; initiating outreach to self-pay patients to determine payment terms or financial options; maintaining professionalism under pressure in a fast-paced contact-center environment. Qualifications include an Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) and three years of customer service/ billing/registration or collection experience preferred. This is a full-time, in-state remote-friendly role with scheduled daytime hours and a unionized employment environment.
